What shall I one day say about life?

Paulo MuhongoPoem · 6 stanzas · 15 lines
I shall say that I lived a life well lived,
That amidst scarcity, I found an abundance Of smiles and love.
And when material comforts Came knocking at the doors of my labyrinths, I delighted in them, without the slightest resistance.
I savoured every drop that flowed from the springs,
Like waves surrendering themselves to the currents of the sea. Without hesitation, I let myself be carried away, Transported by the fleeting beauties That life allows us to savour, if only for a moment.
Yet, I never lost myself in anything, For I always knew that everything is transient. In the blink of an eye, everything can fade away, Like ashes carried off by the wind.
