Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data is processed on paulomuhongo.pt and why. Data controller: Paulo Muhongo, Lisbon, Portugal. Contact: subscricoes@paulomuhongo.pt.
What data we process
- Subscribers: email address, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status and renewal date.
- Payments: handled directly by Stripe. Card details never pass through our server.
- Reader counts: during the first days of an exclusive text we count readers anonymously. We do not store IP addresses, only an irreversible fingerprint that cannot identify anyone.
- Statistics: only with your consent, the site uses Google Analytics to measure visits, with the IP address anonymised.
What we use the data for
Statistics are based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Subscription data is processed to perform the contract and meet legal obligations.
It is used to manage the subscription, give access to exclusive texts, send access links and new-text notices, and meet legal and tax obligations.
Who we share it with
Stripe (payments), Hostinger (site hosting and email delivery) and Google (statistics). We do not sell data to anyone.
How long we keep it
While the subscription is active and, after that, only for as long as the law requires, in particular tax law.
Cookies
When you sign in as a subscriber, a session cookie is created; it is strictly necessary to recognise your subscription. Google Analytics statistics cookies are only used if you accept them in the notice shown on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time under “Cookies”, at the bottom of every page; if you decline, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction, erasure or portability of your data, or object to its processing, by writing to subscricoes@paulomuhongo.pt. You can also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (www.cnpd.pt), or with the authority in your own country.
